[ILUG] ipmasqing and Quake

Steffen Higel higels at tcd.ie

Hi,

I am for the forseeable future going to be using a 2.2.x kernel on my
alpha. I have set up ipmasqing and firewalling on it and have come across
something that I can't found an answer to.

Some applications like Quake or ICQ need specific modules to work with
ipmasqing. I get how ipmasqing works, but how do the packets sent out by
said applications differ from say, telnet or http, that they require this
sort of modification?

Help appreciated,

regards,

Steffen
