[ILUG] login blues...

Hey all,
problems logging in.  Can log in no problem to
terminals 1-6 etc.  Can shell in remotely from other
boxes.  Problem is the login for gnome.  Seems to be
working, then just returns to login screen.  Any ideas
on what I should be looking at?
