Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but I've just checked my email
and I've seen no mention of this so perhaps I'm the first one to have seen
it. Esat are discontinuing my NoLimits service from May 31 because I am
"using this service excessively".
I don't actually use NoLimits as much as I know some of you do - for
instance, I haven't had a second line installed specially - so I'm sure I
won't be the only ILUG person receiving this letter. Let's not all scream
and yell at once - ladies and gentlepersons. The only hope of doing anything
about this is if we act together - class action suit or whatever the
equivalent legal term in Iirsh law is springs to mind.
I'm not really hopeful - I think if push came to shove, ESAT would simply
cease to provide the service to anyone - but I think it can't hurt to speak
to a lawyer. Publicity would help too - Esat will surely look rather stupid
for deciding that some people are using too much of an unlimited service -
sounds like a job for Joe Duffy to me :-) or even placard waving at eXpo.
Actually, it's like an all you can eat buffet saying that hungry people
can't come in.
I've a feeling that this is going to run and run . . .
