that's a fairly short-sighted view, to be honest. VMWare still requires you
to install a full Windows system on your machine, including the disk space
it requires and the additional load on the machine, etc.
And last time I checked, wine wasn't a reliable way to run Outlook.
And web access to email just plain sucks.
I think the main reason I get away with having a linux box on my desk is that
I don't ask for special treatment (like 'please enable LDAP'), and the main
reason I don't ask for special treatment is that I have a win2k box on the
desk for things that Just Don't Work. It's a sorry state of affairs, to be
sure, but I'm rather more concerned about getting my job done, so.
