unix systems used to have accounting systems to record the amount of
cpu/disk and other resources used by individual users. does linux have
something similar? and what can be accounted for - cpu, disk, network, etc?
also, can it show it by process, not just user? in other words, could a
report like this be generated:
user binary cpu disk io (w/r) net io (w/r)
foo /usr/bin/foozle 11223 1234/1234 1234/1234
foo /usr/bin/floyd 11225 1235/1235 1235/1235
bar /usr/bin/foozle 12 3/4 5/6
