[ILUG] Problem with 3com Etherlink III 3c509 ISA

I'm running Slackware 7.1 and trying to the 3com Etherlink III 3c509 ISA
network card to work. If I type modprobe 3c509. It says "Device or
resource busy". I have got the 3com dos utility which gives the IRQ and
I/O information. It detected it and told me the IRQ is 10 and I/O 300.
In slackware I have typed,
modprobe 3c509 io=300 irq=10
but I get the same output. Did anyone else have the same problems?
Or does anyone know the solution?

Thanks in advance,
Patrick Kiernan.
