[ILUG] Tape Drive Help

[ILUG] Tape Drive Help

Derek Lister dlister at eircom.net
Fri Feb 2 14:04:07 GMT 2001

I'm learning to use a tape drive on a server but I've ran into a few
problems (never used one before!). Can someone help?
As soon as I put the 4mm tape in the drive the 'busy' light started flashing
away. It's been doing this now for a good while. When I try the command 'mt
status' I get the following reply:
mt: /dev/nrsa0: Input/output error
What's it doing? Is it formatting?
