okay, cheapbytes is great if you're on a budget, but if you're not,
how about some social responsibility. If you're gonna use
$DISTRIBUTION and learn the ins and outs of the system, why not buy
some software from the company and help it to survive? If everyone
uses $DISTRIBUTION and nobody pays for it, its gonna go out of
business, FACT. That leaves you with a system you know quite well,
that works very well, but with no upgrade path or security/bug fixes!
Some examples:
Stormix is in serious difficulty at the moment.
Corel Linux is being scrapped coz nobody bought it.
Also theres something up with Loki, and I know loads of people pirated
their games. And then people wonder why commercial companies won't
port xyz to Linux.
Yeah, I know you can switch to another distro with only a small bit of
hassle, but GOTO LINE1
Of course theres exceptions like Debian and minidistros that don't
rely on money to survive.
I hope Linuxs biggest selling point isn't that its cheap. Not for me
anyway.
Not trying to shit on anyone, just stating the obvious I suppose...
Remember, its supposed to be free as in speech, not beer.

I have no affiliation with any Linux distro company, yet.
