[ILUG] Linux PDA question

[ILUG] Linux PDA question

No, Don't wait, buy an iPAQ. The deep sleep support is nearly done,
(according to the mailing list), and the screen is excellent. Plus having
mp3's and videos playing on the unit is really useful (yeah right!).

I haven't installed linux on it yet, but from reading general mail from the
list, it works well, and the input options are very workable.

Is there anyone here with one that has linux on it at the moment?

Cheers,

Phil

Subject: [ILUG] Linux PDA question

I've been thinking about replacing my poor dead Palm IIIx. What do people
think of this;
    http://developer.agendacomputing.com/offer-1.html

Seems good, but on reading the slashdot comments about it...
    http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=01/02/04/171240&mode=thread
.. and seeing quotes like "It'll last overnight, if you power it off, on
two AA batteries". Not even AAA ?

Sigh. I really want a Linux PDA, running X&GTK+ that I can program. I can
do Xlib (though it's nasty) if needs be - but PalmOS scared me :) Do I
have to wait a lot longer ?

Kate
