It uses dump by default, and it does incremental backups by default.
In fact, it uses quite an intelligent scheduling algorithm to keep as
many backups of as low a level as possible as will fit on a tape.
Just let it do its thing (don't forget to add the 'index' option to
the dumptypes you use) and don't worry about whether it's doing
incrementals or fulls; It Knows Best.
