[ILUG] Setting user info in Mutt

[ILUG] Setting user info in Mutt

Dave Neary dave at eircom.net
Mon Feb 12 13:22:21 GMT 2001

Hi all,

I'm pretty new to mutt (shame, shame) and I'm trying to get the hang of
things in configuration land. I know a few of you are something of mutt
officionados, so I thought you might be able to help :)

I basically want to have stuff like reply-tos for various mailing lists
(like this one) set automatically when I'm mailing to them, I want to
use the e-mail aliases that are in my addressbook in pine already, and
I'd like to set my identity to dneary at eircom.net, rather than
dave at localhost.localdomain.

I'm sure all this is easy enough in Mutt, but I haven't seen any options
in the sample muttrc (which I pretty much have to my liking) to do any
of them, except the aliasfile (question: Are mutt aliases the same as
pine aliases, once I set the format string to be the same?), but I know
this stuff is possible. A crash course on mutt would be useful, in it's
absence anyone have any quick answers? :)

Thanks a lot,
Dave.
