Thanks for the response. In regard to what you said about most people not
being able to stay on IRC very long - this is just an option for people, you
will of course still be able to use this mailing list. Yes, 6667 is the
normal port used for IRC but there are ways around it. I will look into
other options this evening when I can discuss it with users on-line and my
shell provider. As yet I have no plans to link to Dalnet. As I stated this
will be an Irish based server - for irish users. Linking to irc.phishy.net
(http://www.phishy.net) would be an ideal option and I have already
"unofficially" discussed it with an admin there. Unfortunately before
anything can be finalised I'll need to know how many people are interested.
The response has been good so far, let's keep are fingers crossed ;)
