I was strenuously avoiding the "talking about spam" problem [1], until I
saw this.
You've got it wrong I'm afraid -- what's happened is that the ilug /at/
linux.ie address has been picked up (from a web forum / news posting /
website, wherever) by a address-harvesting crawler script.
Spam will be pretty much continual to that address from now on -- it's
just a question of volume now.
This is a separate issue from the how-to-avoid-reading-it side of things,
but FWIW, that's an important point.
([1]: someone pointed out recently on another list that 50% of the
spam-related crud on lists is people talking about spam, rather than spam
itself ;) Not entirely true in my case (10-15 spams a day), but certainly
true in most.)
