a word of warning... getting this right can be difficult...
i don't know of a specific tool that does this... but you could always
roll your own by pushing the info through openssl or whatever... but
indexed fields could be difficult...
it all depends on why you are encrypting and to what effort you will go
to protect your data...
if its just to keep the information from un-informed wandering eyes,
you're really just looking to obfuscate... etc... i'm sure you get the
drift...
if it's a standalone server... what happens on reboot / power-cycle?
will there be someone to type in the pass-phrase into the program by
hand as it powers up?
thought about an encrypted file system?
