ah yes, pruning, i know about this and use it to auto-move read
messages from the incoming list mail box to a list-read mailbox which
gets pruned every month.
the feature i was reffering to was the "gzip" part. i don't think it
supports gzipped mailboxes (would be a /very/ useful feature).
