yup thats where I'm talking about .. where you have no file systems, or
anything like that to load 'applications' from, you just have one image
and it does it all.. illegal to put prop stuff in the image and GPL even
if you are just using the GPL code through well-defined interfaces and the
like ..

I've been using Redhat eCos for 12 months now .. it's under another
license (like BSD), it works well if not a bit immature on some fronts ..
but you can't use Linux bits with it as it isn't under GPL... so lots of
stuff in it comes from OpenBSD (the TCP/IP stack),
