mmmm well IE was sorted of charged for...
IE originally came from spyglass, which there was a charge for... but that
was so long ago now :) and does anyone know anybody with a copy :)

No you didn't - IE was never charged for. Netscape was - which is one of
the induspitable good things to come out of the whole IE v Netscape thing -
no one ended up having to pay for the browser.
