Hi,
ok..I'm sure this is going to be a stupid question...
Is there a good reason for the fact that while you generally read that
the latest stable release of the kernel is 2.2.16 (e.g..
www.kernelnotes.org), there are patches up to 18? Is there something I'm
missing? Is it bad to use these patches? I can't seem to find release
notes for 17 & 18 either.
As an aside...the reason I was thinking of rebuilding my kernel is I was
noticing strange behaviour with my sound card module (via82cxxx). It
keeps going dead on me! i.e.. applications think its working fine but no
sound is outputted...the problem goes away when I rmmod & insmod. Has
anyone else experienced similar problems?
Finally....the question of full duplex. How can I tell if my card
supports full duplex (besides trying an app that needs it and finding
that it doesn't work!)?
Thanks for replies
