[ILUG] Monitoring a hotswap PSU

[ILUG] Monitoring a hotswap PSU

Hi all,
I have a box with a hotswap PSU but at the moment there's no way to
remotely monitor the PSU status. If one of the PSUs goes (simulation is easy
- just pull the plug :-) ) there's an audible warning via a piezo buzzer in
the PSU and there's a bi-colour LED which goes from green to red. I'd like
to slot something into the LED line to interface to the motherboard so that
I can have a process which monitors the PSU status which I'll integrate in
lm_sensors and webmin or somesuch. However, I'm wondering what's the best
way to do this. The motherboard is a Tyan S2510 which is a special server
board and as such has a load of fan sensors on board, not all of which are
used so I thought perhaps I'd use one of those - anyone know off the top of
their head what the sensor pin on those fan connectors expects ? I'm
guessing it's TTL level but I'd prefer to be sure. Or does anyone have
another suggestion as to how I might monitor that status line ?

Regards,

Niall
