[ILUG] [OT] Solaris Wierd one

I have an E250 running Solaris 7 that needs a null modem cable connected
to another computer to work. Has anyone any idea why it will not boot
without it? I've elimintaed all startup scripts and the inittab for
reasons so it looks like it is the kernel.
