If it's using a serial console, the absence of serial terminal may be 
considered a serial BREAK signal which will send the thing into a PROM 
prompt.

I can't offer a solution, but I know there is a setting in the PROM that 
will prevent this behaviour. I'm sure Sun has some sort of FAQ or 
knowledgebase entry on the subject.
