and you're correct.  paul's answer to shell scripts is ~/.bash_history
(he would say that my answer to anything is a shell script)

can't teach these youngsters anything these days.  why in my day we
didn't have histories.  we had $HOME/bin and shell variables, and we
were happy dag-nabbit, happy i tell you.

i'd go on some more, but i hit the prune juice just a bit too hard
last night...
