I suggest that is the last e-mail you send before 9.00AM, Conor! :-)
I'm going calling Childline!!! and the men in white coats!!
As for epileptic-type mouse movements, that could be the firmware in the
Microsoft Mouse screaming 'I'm lost' in the X-windows env.
Naa, I have come across this before with MS Intellimice.....
4 things;
1) Are you using a switch-box? Known problem
2) Try switching the resolution to lower res and try it...don't ask...it
worked for me!
3) Try lowering the sensitivity and raising resolution of the mouse
4) Also, try using the default 3-button mouse server instead..same effect.

Do you have it dual booted with doze? I had that problem with my mouse when
it the PC was uncleansed, I had to do a cold-boot to have a functionning
mouse. Never figured out why as I wen't pure linux.
Probably totally useless to you,
CW
p.s.: I got one of those remote control trackball mice, how did I ever do
without it? Now for the keyboard....
good example:
The kids are having pokemon battles wreckin your head and your surfing or
whatever, turn the monitor and go outside, stick your fingers up at the kids
and carry on surfing... see? no? Wait till you have kids!

Subject: [ILUG] mouse going crazy in X
hi all,
i recently decided to compile AfterStep
1.8.9 instead of trying to use KDE or Gnome
(neither of which worked upon installation
with slackware 7.1).
i used xf86config to create /etc/XF86Config
but my mouse doesn't seem to be working.
the compile of AfterStep went without a hitch
but when i start up X any movement whatsoever
of the mouse causes the cursor to go all
over the place.
the mouse itself is a Microsoft Intellimouse
and thats what XF86Config has it set up as.
any help is as always appreciated,
thanks in advance,
shane
