I'm hoping beyond much hope that somebody has solved this problem before.
I have a DELL PE2550 with a PERC QC raid card.
I have managed to get Debian installled on this box fine.
The only problem I'm having is the utilities to manage the raid card are
all rpms for RH7.0 or 7.1
So I use alien to convert the rpm to a dep.
But since I am running debian potato.
The version of alien that is installed can't handle the rpm since it is
for rpm v4.
If anybody can help me I would be very grateful.
BTW answers like upgrade to woody is not a solution.
Also I would like not to have to resort to using the BIOS config utility
as this involves extra downtime, and this is on a soon to be production
box.
