Doesn't like that for me either... summat along the lines of

	[-- Autoview using links ''/tmp/mutt.html'' --]
	^[[1;1H[-- Autoview stderr of links ''/tmp/mutt.html'' --]
	^GERROR: could not get terminal size
	Killed

I use something like

.mutt.mailcap
=============
text/html; w3m %s; nametemplate=%s.html
text/html; w3m -dump %s; nametemplate=%s.html; copiousoutput

.muttrc
=======
auto_view text/html
alternative_order text text/plain text/enriched text/html

and ye view it within the pager, and boomski!
