Proprietary or not they are rather fine.
One of the few drivers to support OpenGL, XVideo, and RENDER
acceleration. Probably the fastest card in 2D as well - AFAIK it's the
only driver to use AGP features for 2D rendering.
The open source drivers support none of the cool features, but does have
decent 2D acceleration. Noises have been made about XVideo and RENDER,
but the interest isn't very high given the quality of nVidia's offering.
