What surprises me (only a little...) is that de Icaza speaks highly
of code re-use in terms of the GTK and other Gnome libraries, yet has
gone away from re-use in writing a C# compiler from scratch. He
mentions the idea of writing a C# front-end for gcc, and perhaps a
back end (cross-compiler?) that generates CLR-native code, but oddly -
for someone claiming code re-use as a priority - did not go down
that route originally.
