Well I wanted to get a list up and going like interviews at linux.ie, just so I
could get some type of decoration on the subject line that lookout (which is
what we use here) would have something to latch onto so that I could filter
everything to another folder. As its a little nascent idea on my part, I'm
still thinking about how it could be kept going. I don't want to be in the
position of writing to the list going "So come on guys, who do you reckon we
interview for this month" and trying to get up a bit of interest every
month. Maybe we could do it as a monthly thing, or just keep it in line
with topical happenings, I don't know. I suppose I'd have to see how it
evolves, or devolves even. I have to admit I like the topical thing as I'm
rather keen to use our position as the committee of a really good LUG to get
a deeper insight into whats happening in the news by allowing the LUG
members to question the news makers. Obviously, since people in the Open
Source community are quite busy, they might not be up for answering
questions from random LUGs as I'm sure we're not the only LUG doing this in
the world. What I could do is, at a particular interval, gather together
the major events of that period and send around a list of possible
interviewees to the LUG so our members can vote on who to interview. Thats
another idea. Ideally I'd like to get this up and running and established
as something that happens every month, or every quarter or whatever and
something that LUG members can expect to happen and rely on to be there.
