 I had it set up & indexed sometime last year - and an ls -l on /home on
an NFS client was *really* slow. As in, 0.4 sec per directory name. That
showed me that I really didn't need it.

 Has nss_ldap got any better ? Is it possible to cache such information,
for instance ?
