Hi,
Just started playing with DHCP the other night, and I like it, but
there's one thing that gets me ...
Dynamic DNS of some sort ... I know it's doable .. and that it's supported
in BIND 8.x, but how do I go about setting it up ...
What I want is for my laptop etc to connect, be given their IP by DHCP, and
then have the DNS updated with their hostname correctly, so that tcpwrappers
doesn't disconnect them (yes I know I could just add the net to hosts.allow
... but I'd also like to reference them by name ...)
Mac addresses aren't really an option in this case, as there are multiple
laptops and only a few PCMCIA cards, which get swapped around quite a bit
...
Suggestions or howto pointers welcome ...
Thanks,
P
