I wouldn't advise deleting that partition anyway, as it effectively holds
the BIOS GUI for the machine ... this is becoming more standard nowadays as
users demand more from their hardware.

As for the Windows questions, as Colm mentioned, we are not all derisory to
M$ and their products. In fact I personally admire any company that can sell
any product as well as they sell theirs. They make some good application
software. The problem is that this is a Linux forum, and as such should be
used for Linux related questions ... 

Anyway, back to the partition, removing it won't have any effect, good or
bad on LILO, or the ability to dual-boot. But you might have problems later
when you'll wish you hadn't deleted it ... Windows knows this, and won't let
you delete it ... that's all.
