You are correct, lets not send any more solaris/HPUX/IRIS etc etc mails
again as they are NOT linux. I have to say this as there are a myriad of
groups out there that deal with those OS's
www.solarisguide.com is a phenomenal resource for Solaris for example.
Look, I hate MS and I shall never acknowledge .NET no matter whatever anyone
else may think about it. I have read the propaganda on www.microsoft.com/net
but I'm just not interested in it. If MS take over the NET, then that is the
day I will give up using computers and open a petshop. - whoohoo says ilug!
As far as gnome goes, I never liked it anyway @:)
But we cannot and should not decide that we can help UNIX users and not help
WINUX users. It kinda goes against the community spirit. The odd question
from time to time is grand as far as I am concerned.
Anyway, there are lots of mails that go around that are not even to do with
computing (myself included), never mind linux. Hey don't get me wrong, I
split myside laughing in here from some of the stuff that - notably KATE and
Niall - send around and I don't evern wan't it to end.
I think jac has a genuine problem and he wants to install linux after win2k
- as far as I have understood. Whats wrong with that? I gotta leggit my
friends. Feel free to flame me, I'm a big boy - whoo hoo say the girls.
I do agree that it should NEVER EVER be transformed into a MS helpdesk coz
they're a shower of B*******, but if the end result is to help a linux user,
then thats why these lists are here.

I fully agree with Colm here. There is an Irish list suitable
for this kind of question: technobabble at redbrick.dcu.ie.
Remember that there are (what it is now?) ~700 subscribers that are
obviously interested in _Linux_ related discussion. So, while nobody
has an obligation to answer off-topic questions, it's definitely a
bit impolite (to use a mild word) to expect the list server machine
to deliver 700 copies of your message and expect 700 people to read
it and delete it.
