Howdy,
If you don't mind reding a bit of French, the following site:
http://www.surcouf.com/
Has alot of reasonably priced components, with alot of choice (I have never
seen so many MB's), and they cater for almost anything.
Right, I am saying this because I went there and bought stuff. I am not
sure if they ship to Ireland, but have a look on their web site (google it!)
and you will probably be able to see.
Hey if I'm off to France in the future.....
Phil

Subject: [ILUG] Cheapest Linux-friendly components by mail-order
Hi y'all,
Here's one - my home PC needs replacing & I'd like to build one from
Linux-friendly components - but where to source those components, that is
the question?
Since it's my normal practice to make for the door when my round comes up I
would like to buy at prices close to the dollar prices available in the US.
(see prices quoted in the Arstechnica or theDukeOfUrl for example).
Choices are:
a) Buy in Ireland - not an option - I don't know of any component supplier
that gives a reasonable deal and service.
b) Buy from the UK and pay inflated Sterling prices.
c) Buy in the US - no consumer protection if some UPS droid plays footie
with my parcel.
d) Buy somewhere in the Eurozone (Germany?) where I might get better
consumer protection and better prices.
Does have anyone have any (unbiased) advice/experiences to offer?
Stephen Butler
