Do you have reason to use offical IPs for this sort of stuff? If so you
can get the space.
It should be noted that using RFC1918 space makes it more difficult for
nasty people on the net to get at your data and stuff (however, if you just
renumber your network into RFC1918 space and go "I'm secure now" you're an
idiot) and can be used as part of a general policy of tightening up security.
