Thanks, I really needed this list. I have had no clue what AFAIR meant at
any stage, I actually thought it was some dude or dudette! Really!
IIRC - ???
I thought LOL was "lots of love"
IMHO - ???
Anyway, thanks.

A lot of acronyms are used to just cut down on typing. There are a number
of well uses and well known ones that everyone should know. Here's a brief
list of what I can remember offhand. Anyone else want to post a few more...
RTFM - Read The F***ing Manual
ROTLF - Rolling On The Floor Laughing
LOL - Laugh Out Loud
BRB - Be Right Back (used a lot on IRC and chat rooms).
IIRC - If I Recall Correctly
IMHO - In My Honest/Humble Opinion
AFAIK - As Far As I Know
AFAIR - As Far As I Recall/Remember
WTF - What The F***
In many cases, typing them full hand would have less of an effect. What
would you prefer to see if you sent someone a joke - Laughing Out Loud, or
LOL? Rolling on the floor laughing, or ROTFL?
I'm sure there is a list somewhere with a list of all of these. I could
look it up, but I'm sure you know how to use Google yourself. Maybe is
someone on the list knows one off hand they can post it here.
These types of achronyms I certainly don't have a problem seeing or using.
The ones I do hate, however, are or the type cul8r, ne1, etc. People who
use these all the time should be shot, IMHO.
