Absolutely.  Barring certain types of direct hardware access that can't
be accomodated.

Which make/model?   It turns out that a few of them (notably HP
"PPA"-type inkjets) aren't really MS-Windows dependent, such that the
problem of supporting them _did_ succumb to a very determined Linux 
programmer who'd made the mistake of buying one.  See:

In general, "winprinters" are so dodgy and such a drain on one's RAM &
CPU that they're best dealt with by giving them to someone you don't
like.
