i think i've shown her how to do it a good few times - cause it was
pissing me off that she manually typed the page numbers at the top of
each page. but i'm sure she's forgotten, she has to call me to ask
about simple things like changing fonts (she might have gotten the
hang of this now actually).
so don't count on my mum on for staroffice support.. :)
as kenn says though, it's fairly simple. but i would recc'd putting a
header in first, and the page number in the header.
or even better, ditch SO completely and use Lyx, which is rather damm
funky and generates tres nice HTML/PDF/PS/etc.. (whatever you can find
a latex convertor for).
