[ILUG] More Sun pricing delights

[ILUG] More Sun pricing delights

Niall O Broin niall at magicgoeshere.com
Fri Mar 2 00:32:18 GMT 2001

Further delving into the previously mentioned quote reveals that Sun would
like me to give them £7875 for a 72" rack, with a further £708 for an
'optional' door and a further £1417 for an 'optional' fan assembly (what's
the option here - put in the fan or have the kit melt ?). I don't object to
paying Sun their price for their kit, if that's the engineering & financial
decision that's made. I do strenuously object to being asked to pay absurd
prices for stupid things (though, in fairness, as a colleague pointed out,
the quote did include 2 power cables which are supplied F.O.C.)

Regards,

Niall
