[ILUG] Maximum modem rates

[ILUG] Maximum modem rates

Line quality, but there's no way he's getting true 52K... I have never seen
this, even in the last job I had - testing modems and port sharing for doze
- I know, it was the most boring job ever - It was an internal network with
full padx blah blah blah, so the quality is about as near perfect as it can
be, and we did not even have 52K.

Then again maybe he is... but my mates complain about being disconnected
from time to time in doze, I use linux - RH7 among others, and I never
disconNect, au contraire, sometimes I forget to hang up and I have to wait
for my wife to cop on when I'm in work. i CURSE MYSELF FOR THE WASTED PHONE
BILL :(

I have discovered the connection issues with esat, it seems to me that it
only happens from 7.30PM to 11PM, I connect when I get home at 6pm (or
before) and it goes through first time, I tried at 8PM one day and I had to
re-attempt 15 times...
Get home early lads and lassies. :)

Now if only I could get squid working properly...

--------------
or maybe Windows is
just better than Linux at handling modems :-)
--------------

Normally this would provoke me... :) but its well early

Later,
CW
