I bought myself a TV card a while ago and I finally got a chance to install
it. I compiled a kernel with modular support for the card and that all seems
to work fine in that I can load the modules with no error. However, the
object of the excercise is to watch TV but I can't install xawtv :
niall at bagend:/cdrom >sudo rpm -Uvh ./suse/xap1/xawtv.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
libXxf86dga.so.1 is needed by xawtv-3.17-13
libXxf86vm.so.1 is needed by xawtv-3.17-13
Any ideas what RPM I'll find this in (preferably on a SuSE system) ? I have
libXxf86dga.a and libXxf86vm.a bot of which are from the xdevel package but
there's no trace of shared libs of these names. WTF are they ? I've
installed my new toy and I want to play with it ! ! ! ! (The galling thing
is that a friend of mine is an NT admin. I introuced him to Linux and he's
very impressed, although he hasn't used it that much yet. But he has his TV
card running with Calera OpenLinux - in fact, it's his only TV)

Niall
