how do you get nis to work nicely if you're using a laptop? anyone have
any strategies? i'm asking for a friend who needs to know but seems to
intent on sending me annoying emails about much later projects... (cough)
also, nis vs. nis+ on linux. last i looked - over three years ago -
nis+ was very poorly supported. has this changed?
also how does nis deal with different password hashing? i.e. i think
solaris and linux use different hashing algorithms now.
