[ILUG] high speed mp3s (chimpmonks)

Sorry about the last message: I was trying to do too many things at
once!

After moving mp3's about (from an old machine-to this new one while I
can't get drivers for!) I have a problem with mp3's playing at about
x1.5 normal speed. The problem persists whether using mpg123 or xmms.
At the moment I am using OSS to provide drivers for sound. Does anyone
know where I should be looking to fix this problem. I've tried using the
latest OSS & xmms.

On a related note....has anyone tried installing kernel v2.4 on RH6.2?
Is it a bad idea?

cheers,
g

(sorry again about the false start!)
