Really stupid reply, but, in fstab, what are the permissions for /dev/fd0???
If it is ro or rw???
Try mountig the drive with rw specified.
Pathetic I know...
it tells me that /dev/fd0 is being mounted in read-only mode. I have check
permissions on the /dev/fd0 file and the /mnt/floppy directory and they are
fine, I have tried this as root, and the floppy disk is perfect. I thought
that perhaps it was because the floppy was originally formatted on a windows
PC, so I have tried different floppies formatted on a Linux PC but to no
avail. This is starting to get a bit annoying so any help is appreciated ...
