Hey all
I am running a few test programs on my cluster and I am timing how long
it takes to run a program with 1,2 and 3 processors.
I type in at the bash prompt
#time mpirun -np 3 TestProg > /tmp/Test.tmp
where normally when I am running the program I type
#mpirun -np 3 TestProg
It gives me back the following result.
1.64user 1.11system 0:03.14elapsed 87%CPU (0avgtext+0avgdata 0maxresident)k
0inputs+0outputs (5833major+5068minor)pagefaults 0swaps
However on running it again the values change and this does not help me
in comparing results. How can I get a standard answer to time? In many
references to running the program from the web and some books time seems
to return a single answer in micro-sec's. Can I change the way time
displays its result?
