Conor,
Naa the Glass rarely breaks as it is 3/4 inch thick!!! Tis the light metal
shroud and/or light-glass tube-backing yokie which covers the back of the
tube itself that punctures first(and the monitor cover stops flying debris).
Either that or the Cathode Seal breaks and all ya hear is *Hummmpht!* (suck)
:)
I have yet to see the glass of the tube break, even when my friend who will
remain completely anonymous(Richard!) dropped an unboxed lovely 21" Digital
Monitor during a server delivery from a good height a few years back. He
heard a hiss and fucked off down the road, thinking 'poison gas' was seeping
out, when all that was happening was the air was going in :)
The customer became ex-customer ! LOL
J.
