[ILUG] [OT] Solaris Question Grrrrr

[ILUG] [OT] Solaris Question Grrrrr

Kevin Gannon kevin at gannons.net

I have a silly application that insists on having a DNS server.I only want
to use a hosts file as there isnt enough hosts to warrant a DNS install.

I have the line in nsswitch.conf "hosts: files" but I still have the name
resolution problem with the application. The authors of the app say that if
"nslookup localhost" doesnt work then the app wont work period.

Anyone got any ideas on getting around this without having to install
and configure BIND or DJBDNS ?

Thanks & Regards,
Kevin
