[ILUG] RH6.2 and password aging

[ILUG] RH6.2 and password aging

Paul Jakma paulj at itg.ie

ok... so there's a file called /etc/login.defs which has settings that
suggest they control whether shadow password aging is done or not..

except setting the number of days a password may last to something
other than the default of 9999 has no effect when the password is
changed with passwd.

so what's the story with it? how do you get password aging to work on
RH6.2 without editing /etc/shadow by hand?
