[ILUG] ide-scsi (cd-rw)

[ILUG] ide-scsi (cd-rw)

ahh...bloody hell..I still can't get it working! I have gone through the
HOWTO, rebuilt the kernel, added append="hdd=ide-scsi" to lilo.conf,
etc.

currently my loaded module list looks like this (I include everything in
case sees something incompatible):
Module Size Used by
eepro100 16512 1
sg 15664 0 (unused)
ide-scsi 7424 0
scsi_mod 59312 2 [sg ide-scsi]
vmnet 15520 3
vmmon 17120 0 (unused)
i810_audio 10640 0
soundcore 2608 2 [i810_audio]
ac97_codec 7472 0 [i810_audio]

But I still get;
>cdrecord -scanbus
Cdrecord 1.9 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2000 Jvrg Schilling
cdrecord: Permission denied. Cannot open '/dev/sg0'. Cannot open SCSI
driver.
cdrecord: For possible targets try 'cdrecord -scanbus'. Make sure you
are root.

but I know that the device was at least seen because, from dmesg:
scsi0 : SCSI host adapter emulation for IDE ATAPI devices
scsi : 1 host.
  Vendor: SAMSUNG Model: CD-R/RW SW-408B Rev: BS02
Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02

Does anyone have any suggestions (plezz)??
