Hi,
I'm trying to use a second cdrom with my recently configured cdrw
(yesterdays posts!). I can see from /proc/ide/hdc that the kernel sees
the cdrom. However I haven't been able to mount it. I tried remaking the
device...
[root at moby /dev]# ./MAKEDEV -v hdc
./MAKEDEV: major_cpu/msr=202: No such file or directory
./MAKEDEV: major_cpu/cpuid=203: No such file or directory
create hdc b 22 0 root:disk 660
create hdc1 b 22 1 root:disk 660
create hdc2 b 22 2 root:disk 660
create hdc3 b 22 3 root:disk 660
create hdc4 b 22 4 root:disk 660
create hdc5 b 22 5 root:disk 660
create hdc6 b 22 6 root:disk 660
create hdc7 b 22 7 root:disk 660
create hdc8 b 22 8 root:disk 660
[root at moby /dev]# mount /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom
mount: /dev/hdc has wrong major or minor number
But I have no idea what those MAKEDEV errors are about. On a related
note..I get the same problem with /dev/scd0 (ya..I have sr_mod.o
loaded). Does anyone know whats going on? Suggestions appreciated...
