Slight problem here which has me stumped.
I installed Debian on my work machine, and everything is ok, except for
the £ character. It appears correctly in Netscape, but I tried it in all
the installed xterms (eterm, gnome-terminal, rxvt, and xterm) and the #
character is printed with a carriage return!
When installing X using anXious I didn't see any option to select a UK
keyboard, so plumpted for a US one. When I discovered the above problem
I copied the following lines from my old Red Hat XF86Config
XkbKeycodes "xfree86"
XkbTypes "default"
XkbCompat "default"
XkbSymbols "us(pc101)"
XkbGeometry "pc"
XkbRules "xfree86"
XkbModel "pc101"
XkbLayout "gb"
That works fine in Red Hat which is annoying me now!
The character works as expected at the console though..
Donncha.
